sturdy SSD
Monday, February 8, 2010
Solid State Drives (SSD) is a relatively new technology that uses non-moving parts and proves to be potentially superior to the current hard disk in many aspects. Current hard disk uses a spinning disk and a mechanical arm to read data which makes it relatively fragile compared to SSDs. SSD also has higher read speed than HDD but the main characteristics of an SSD is usually the low read latency, which implies faster loading times. Right now this technology is still expensive and glitched though, so we'll have to wait a year or two before it gets refined into a beautiful product.
Anyway, kingston proved it's sturdiness in the video below:
It's said to be able to withstand a G-shock of 1500 G, whatever G-shock means. Couldn't find it on google, but it simply means the product is very resistant and hard to spoil. =D
That being said, a hard disk of this level of resilience would mean that your data would still be there after you drop your laptop, but it's very likely that the other parts, especially the LCD screen would be damaged beyond repair such that you won't be able to do anything to it anyway. ^^". But preserving data is probably more important, isn't it?

Here's one of the most discussed topic on the internet:
All of the comments seen online on this Hollywood movie are negative, if you happen to find a positive one drop me the link somewhere around here. xD. I might just watch this movie to see how bad it can get.
And by the way, I am getting a little too lazy to blog. When I get the inspiration/motivation to do so, I'll probably start advertising this blog. Meanwhile I guess you can consider this blog dormant. Tada!

Vocaloid's newest video

【ニコニコ動画】VOCALOIDでニコニコ動画流星群【完成版】
Okay, this is to make up for my current and future lack of updates because I have decided to wholeheartedly dedicate my time to studying. Presenting to you the 14 minutes long music video featuring the stars of vocaloid (obviously with Hatsune Miku in the limelight most of the time) with many classics and (jpop) top hits.
Here's a little background information on Vocaloid first. It isn't a company for your information. It is a software by Yamaha, a singing synthesizer software to be exact. So hatsune miku isn't a real singer, just a virtual idol with Saki Fujita's voice. So Vocaloid is this program where you type in lyrics and melody and volia, you get the song. Apparantly there's settings you can adjust to improve the dynamics of the song too.
Anyway I heard some of the songs off YouTube before. I can't really say I like the voice of Miku but this one is pretty good in my opinion. Listen to it if you are bored or something. I am just going to end my post here because my brain is not really functioning in this tired state.
Here's some pictures of Hatsune Miku to end my post. The video is released yesterday by the way, which coincidentally is the day Miku was born!

TTGL Parallel Works 2

| Original Net Animation (ONA) Theme: BafBaf! Sonna ni Moeru no ga... Suki Kai (Bafbaf! Do You Like Being That... Fired Up?) Anime: Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Summary: Featuring viral and the pachinko machine! Content highly related to theme. | |
| It's an ONA of the anime Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. It's just like another video where the scenes are planned out according to the music if you don't know the original story but you'll get more of a laugh if you do. And speaking of which, Parallel Works 1 offers the characters in a parallel universe and a whole different storyline, featuring the theme "Rap is a Man's soul!", which you will enjoy better probably if you watched the anime. Rap is a Man's soul is the piece with "Row row fight da powah!" epic phrase by the way. Anyway, Gurren Lagann is a very good anime regardless of whether you like mecha or not. It's been described as epic by many and a guaranteed entertainment for that whole 20 minutes every episode. It's still at the top of my favourite list, and I'm not exaggerating. It's a gar anime with good character development and good storyline. But the most important thing that makes the anime epic is the way the protagonist can somehow overcome their situation no matter how and what. (Think power ranger or pokemon, but infinitely better.) | |
